Addy Jo Beverlin, age 92

January 19, 1928 – April 19, 2020

Addy Jo Beverlin, age 92, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 1:30 PM - Sunday, April 19, 2020, at her home.

Private services will be held.  Burial will be in the in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  In loving memory of Addy Jo, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church or St. Thomas School.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Addy Jo was born on January 19, 1928, in Jasper County, Illinois, the daughter of Florent X. and Beulah (Davis) Menke.

She attended St. Thomas Catholic School and graduated from Newton Community High School with the class of 1946.  She then attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana.

Addy Jo married Glenn Beverlin on August 18, 1947, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on July 19, 2004.

Addy Jo and Glenn owned Beverlin Oil Company for many years.  She kept the business books, while raising their 7 children.

Addy Jo was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois and the St. Thomas Rosary group.

Addy Jo loved spending time with her family and friends whom she loved dearly.  She enjoyed life and never let it get her down.

She was a great cook, hosting the entire family annually for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.  She was one of a kind, who lit up any room she entered and was the life of any gathering.  Her laugh could be heard a block away, and will be missed in our ears, but will forever be in our memories.

Addy Jo enjoyed embordering, traveling, gambling, playing bridge with her friends and attending her grandchildren's many activities and events.  She was proud to have made an embroidery blanket for each of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Sons- John (Annie) Beverlin of Newton, Illinois; Steve (Patty) Beverlin of Auburn, Illinois; Terry (Kelley) Beverlin of Pawnee, Illinois

Daughters - Glenda (Dale) Finn of Newton, Illinois; Sandy (Steve) French of Newton, Illinois; Diann (Dennis) White of Breese, Illinois and Donna (Ray) Watkins of Newton, Illinois

Sister - Jackie Tauber of Newton, Illinois

Brothers- John (Judy) Menke of Newton, Illinois; Tony (Betty) Menke of Las Vegas, Nevada;

and Tom (Betty) Menke of Tullahoma, Tennessee.

Brother-in-law Ed Littlejohn of Robinson, Illinois

30 Grandchildren, 63 Great Grandchildren (one on the way), 7 Great-Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Florent D. "Sonny" Menke, Father and mother-in-law John and Zella Beverlin, 5 sisters-in-law and 6 brothers-in-law.
