Alice L. Plew, 92, of Olney, IL died April 5, 2018 at 5:30 a.m. at Helia Healthcare. She was born May 30, 1925 to Clarence and Lula (Kirk) Ritter in Bedford, IN. She married Francis Plew on April 7, 1946. While waiting for him to return from overseas during WWII, she worked as a telephone inspector in Indianapolis, IN.

Alice loved the Lord Jesus Christ and especially loved her family. She also loved music – playing both organ and piano. She began playing for services in a church in Vicksburg, IN when she was 9 years old. She continued using her musical talent for the Lord at the Grace Gospel Church in Linton, IN. She also gave piano lessons for many years. After she and her husband moved to Olney, IL in 1991, she helped with music at Faith Bible Church.  She was a homemaker and loved sewing, often making clothes for herself and family, and teaching them how to sew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, a niece, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Brett) Fritschle of Claremont, IL; 2 sons Richard (Kay) Plew of Palm Bay, FL, and Larry (Lynne) Plew of St. Cloud, FL; 5 grandchildren Tara (Rob) Porterfield, Jason Plew, Jeff (Veronica) Plew, Jenna (Brian) Garner, Jacob (Rachel) Fritschle; and 7 great-grandchildren James, Rebekah, Thomas, Adrian, Alexia, Levi and Alayna.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 10, at the Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney, IL with a 1 hour visitation before the funeral. Interment will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park. Pastor Kaleb Kemper will be officiating.
