Alva J. Johnson, age 82
July 5, 1940 – May 2, 2023
Alva J. Johnson, age 82, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 AM - Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at his home.
Visitation will be held 1:00 to 2:00 PM – Saturday, May 20, 2023, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with a service to follow. In loving memory of Alva, memorials may be made to the Meyer Funeral Home. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .
Alva was born on July 5, 1940, in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Issac W. and Ada (Heady) Johnson. He worked as an assembler for many years at Roadmaster in Olney, Illinois.
Alva was a member of the Fountain Fellowship Church in Brigeport, Illinois. He enjoyed mowing his yard and taking care of Princess, his dog and Shorty the cat.
