Angela Marie Hahn, age 99
Of Newton, IL and formerly of Ste. Marie, IL passed away at 1:53 AM – Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, May 27, 2013 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Private burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Angela, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Building Fund. The Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL is in charge of arrangements. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.blakefh.com.
Angela was born on November 5, 1913 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of James and Minta (Culbertson) Spitzer. She married Edward Hahn on October 25, 1938 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2012 after 73 years of marriage.
Angela attended school in Jasper County and was a loving mother and housewife. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers and yard.
Angela was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton and former member of St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie.
Angela is survived by:
2 daughters – Madonna (Gene) Schackmann of Newton, IL
Mary Lou (Jim) Kessler of Mesquite, NV
5 Grandchildren
8 Great Grandchildren
Sister – Rosemary Sellberg of Niles, IL
Angela was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister Marjorie Price.
