Annita Mae (Lee) Ochs, age 86
of Newton, Illinois passed away at 3:30 AM – Monday, August 31, 2015 at Burgin Manor in Olney, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Friday, September 4, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the mass in the church. In loving memory of Annita, memorials may for masses in her memory. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.
Annita was born on July 1, 1929 in rural Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Roy W. and Edith Mary (Etzell) Lee. She married Jerome A. Ochs on April 10, 1951 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois an he preceded her in death on February 13, 2001.
Annita was a graduate of the Class of 1948 from Newton Community High School in Newton, Illinois.
Annita worked as an auction clerk for many years helping her dad Auctioneer Roy W. Lee. She also worked as a cook at St. Thomas School in Newton for several years.
Annita was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois and the Jasper County Home Extension. She enjoyed raising flowers, playing cards, singing and playing the organ.
Annita always enjoyed visiting with a friend or neighbor or by sending cards and letters in the mail. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her, especially by her smile and laugh.
Annita is survived by: Daughters – Cheryl Ann (Fred) Kuhl of Newton, Illinois Carol Jean (Neal) Fehrenbacher of Newton, Illinois Diane Rose (Jeffrey C.) Kocher of Claremont, Illinois
Grandchildren – Dwayne Fehrenbacher, Rebecca Wilson, Christopher Kuhl, Jeremy Kuhl, Jennifer Maxon, Maranda Quillen, Clarissa Kocher and Jerod Kocher
Great Grandchildren – Makala Wilson, Macie Wilson, Madison Wilson, Eli Fehrenbacher and one due in January 2016.
Annita was preceded in death by parents and husband.
