Barbara Jean "Jeannie" (Trice) Ball, age 83, of Olney, IL, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away at 10:10 a.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL.
Jeannie was born May 30, 1940, in Evansville, IN, to James O. and Fabian (Winstead) Trice. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1958 and earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Evansville College.
Jeannie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Olney, IL, where she was the Church Treasurer for 18 years. She served as a Board Member and Treasurer for the American Cancer Society, was president of the RMH Hospital Auxiliary, President and Board Member of Silver Street Elementary PTA, and she worked as an Accountant for Wesselman's Finer Foods for 18 years. Jeannie played the violin with Olney String Ensemble Group with Olney Community College, and she enjoying playing with her tennis group. She loved cooking, working with her herb plants and flower garden, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. She and Stanley especially loved to travel to Florida and Hawaii and especially California where their daughter and family lived for 20 years. Family and friends were her whole world. She will be greatly missed.
Jeannie is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Stanley Eugene Ball;
daughter, Jeanna Michelle Schwartz (Vince); grandson, Alec J. Schwartz;
sisters-in-laws, Marilyn Ball McConnell and Barbara Shelton(Winston);
and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, James and Fabian Trice;
and beloved dogs, Harley and Candy.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Meyer Funeral Home, 945 S. West Street, Olney, IL with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor James Potts and Reverend David McNabb officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023,
at Boone Funeral Home
East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN, with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Potts and Reverend David McNabb officiating.
Burial will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery, Evansville, IN.
