Barbara L. (Morgan) Rauch, age 77
of Newton, Illinois passed away at 7:30 AM – Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Wendelin, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the church and 1 hour before the mass. In loving memory of Barbara, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas School. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.
Barbara was born on April 9, 1938 in Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Bruce and Winnie (Kistner) Morgan.
Barbara graduated from Newton Community High School in 1955. After graduation she married Arthur A. "Art" Rauch on June 4, 1955 at Holy Cross Church Wendelin, Illinois and he survives. Together they owned and operated Rauch's Jewelry on the square in Newton, Illinois since opening in June 1960.
Barbara was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. She loved to travel, go camping, cooking, sewing, reading, and crocheting. For 20 years Barbara and Art would travel to Port Isabell, Texas where they would spend their winters, walking the beaches, collecting seashells and enjoying the warm sunshine. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren participate in band competitions and sporting events.

Rauch of Newton, Illinois 8 children: Pamela (Kenny) French of Newton, Illinois; Cynthia (Scott) Bunselmeyer of Rockwood, Illinois; Jeannette (Mark) Nix of Newton, Illinois; Bruce (Dena) Rauch of Newton, Illinois; Sandra (Mike) Resendiz of Bartlett, Illinois; Carol (Wayne) Dhom of Mattoon, Illinois; Alan (Lisa) Rauch of Newton, Illinois and June (Scott) Bierman of Newton, Illinois Special niece – Kate (Joe) Bokor of Urbana, Illinois
20 grandchildren Amie McClane of Milpitas, California; Katie (Ramie) Clagg of Effingham, Illinois; Kyle French of Nashville, Tennessee; Kendra French of Salem, Illinois; Nicole (Jarrod) Goodhue of Lynchburg, Virginia; Anthony (Karissa) Nix of Corvallis, Oregon; Mara Nix of Champaign, Illinois; Bill (Pam) Rauch of Kingsville, Texas; Brad (Amy) Rauch of Teutopolis, Illinois; Brooke (Seth) Woods of Newton, Illinois; Nicole Grieble of Seattle, Washington; Alexandria Grieble of Denver, Colorado; Christopher Resendiz of Barlett, Illinois; Erica (Devin) Moses of Mattoon, Illinois; Dylan (Crystal) Dhom of Mattoon, Illinois; Taylor Rauch, Robert Rauch, Madalyn Rauch, Jacob Bierman and Mitchell Bierman all of Newton, Illinois. 6 Great-grandchildren Raya Clagg, Caroline Rauch, Ally and Brock Rauch, Gracie and Morgan Moses Brother-in-laws and Sister-in-laws - Dean Chesnut of St. Joseph, Illinois; Clifford Rauch, Lavera Bryan both of Ingraham, Illinois; Geneva (Franklin) Geier and Ruth Rauch both of Newton, Illinois. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Pauline Schmack, June Bangert, Mildred Chesnut; brothers Howard Morgan, David Morgan and Edwin Morgan.
