Bennie Maurice Heady, age 88

Bennie Maurice Heady, age 88, of Headyville, Illinois, in rural Jasper County, Illinois, passed away at 11:10 AM – Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Palm Terrace in Mattoon, Illinois.

Graveside services celebrating Bennie's life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois, with Carroll Ross officiating.  In loving memory of Bennie, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

Bennie was born on November 13, 1935, on the family farm near Headyville, Illinois, in rural Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Carl and Ethel (Gass) Heady.  He graduated from Newton Community High School with the Class of 1954.

Bennie was a longtime farmer in Jasper County, near Headyville.  He enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sharing his bounty with friends and family.

Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lloyd "Gene" Heady and brother-in-law Bernell Gillespie.
