Betty Lee Dryden, age 87, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:15 AM - Thursday, November 14, 2019, at her home.
Funeral services celebrating Betty's life will be held at 1:00 PM – Monday, November 18, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Cemetery in rural Newton, Illinois. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM -1:00 PM before the service. In loving memory of Betty, memorials may be made to The 700 Club Orphan's Promise. Arrangements are in the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Betty was born on November 6, 1932, in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of Benjamin and Adeline (McLaughlin) Clark. She grew up in Kearney, New Jersey, where she met her husband John Dryden. They were married on May 5, 1956, at the Presbyterian Church in Kearney, New Jersey.
Betty was a Registered Nurse and worked as a geriatric nurse for 16 years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton, Illinois. Betty was a gentle gracious soul, full of faith and strong in prayer, who loved the Lord and her family beyond measure. She enjoyed reading, history, movies, photography and watching The 700 Club.

Children - John Dryden, Jr. of Newton, Illinois; Dan Dryden of St. Helens, Oregon; Mark Dryden of St. Helens, Oregon; Tim (Michelle) Dryden of St. Helens, Oregon; Nancy Dryden of Newton, Illinois; Mary Hanley of Peoria, Illinois and Joyce Kamis of Newton, Illinois.
11 Grandchildren 6 Great Grandchildren
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, youngest child David Joshua Dryden and a sister Nancy Collins.
