Betty M. Farny, 82 of Olney passed away at 9:49 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 9-11 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 AM. Entombment will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens. Reverend Ben Pottorff will be officiating.

Betty was born on December 3, 1932 in Olney the daughter of Raymond and Edith (Herrin) Jones. She later married Paul Farny on April 14, 1952 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He preceded her in death.

She was a CNA for many years. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching games shows on television, and attending auctions and rummage sales. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Olney. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her daughter Paula Scott, and husband Jay of Olney; 3 brothers, Charlie Jones, Kenneth Jones, and Fred Jones; 3 grandchildren, Amber Smith, and husband Harold of Chauncey, Drew Pottorff, and companion Tara Long of Olney and Ben Pottorff, and wife Lesli of Louisville, Kentucky; 6 great-grandchildren, Ben Snell, Brittani Snell, Brandi Smith, Ean Pottorff, Isaac Pottorff, and Eli Pottorff; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Farny, parents, Raymond and Edith Jones, sister Mildred Workman, 4 brothers, Jerry Jones, Jack Jones, Dale Jones, and Jim Jones.
