Billie Eleanor Benson, age 88, of Germantown, Wisconsin, formerly of Olney, Illinois, passed away on August 22, 2023, at the Gables Assisted Living in Germantown, Wisconsin.

Funeral Services for Billie Eleanor Benson, age 88, will be held at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM. The visitation will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, starting at 9:00 AM until the service time. Burial will take place after the service in Maple Dale Cemetery in Olney, Illinois.

Billie was born on May 13, 1935, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of William A. and Bertha Evelyn (Matthews) Wood.Billie married Thomas Benson on June 13, 1954, in Flora Illinois and he preceded her in death on
January 15, 2022.

Billie was a piano teacher for many years in Olney, teaching several young pupils the wonderful art of music. She and her husband Tom attended Grace Evangelical Church in Olney where she was the pianist and organist for several years. Billie taught the Tuesday Morning Bible study for 10 years and volunteered for the WPTH Radio station. Billie also played in the OCC String Ensemble. After moving to Wisconsin, Billie attended the Brookside Baptist Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin and taught a monthly Bible Study at The Gables, where she lived.

Duane Merle (Janice) Benson of Westmont, Illinois
C. Diane (Paul) McClain of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin
Twelve Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren
Sisters: Thelma Joyce Cantrell of Flagler Beach, Florida
Rosemary (Marvin) Thompson of Andover, Minnesota

Billie is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Johnnie B. Wortham and her husband, Tom, of 67 years.
