Blake Allen Mulvaney, age 23

of Newton, Illinois passed away at 1:45 AM – Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Jasper County, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with Pastor Tom Matson officiating. Burial will be in the Crest Haven Memorial Park in rural Claremont, Illinois. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Blake, memorials may be made to the family.
Blake was born on November 16, 1991 in Effingham, Illinois the son of Michael Mulvaney and Beverely Goff.
Blake was a 2010 graduate of the Newton Community High School in Newton, Illinois. He worked at Yoplait, Contractor Lawson Electric, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and was going to school to be an electrician.
Blake was a member of the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church in Effingham and the IBEW union # 429. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, singing and being with friends. He always had a way of making people laugh. Blake's greatest joy was spending time with his family especially his nieces and nephews.
Blake is survived by: Mother – Beverely (Tim) Drake, Sr. of Greenup, Illinois Father – Michael (Stacia) Mulvaney of Watson, Illinois Sisters and Brothers – Lyssa (Travis) Michl of Newton, Illinois; Sonya (Erik) Cordell of Olney, Illinois; Rachl Rabideau (friend Bill Loy) of Newton, Illinois; Alivia Mulvaney of Watson, Illinois; Austin Bush of Watson, Illinois; Justin (Kaylynn) Drake of Amarillo, Texas; Timmy Drake, Jr. (friend Jamie Dunn) of Greenup, Illinois; Ashley Drake (friend Ethan Wicke) of Greenup, Illinois and Matt Drake of Phoenix, Arizona. Grandparents – Joyce Mulvaney of Dyersburgh, Tennessee; Marylyn Goff (Friend Dale Linder) of Newton, Illinois Step Grandparents – Margaret Wilson of Palestine, Illinois and Clarence "Doc" (Carolyn) Drake of Dundas, Illinois Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Blake was preceded in death by his grandfathers Larry Mulvaney and Horace Goff.
