Bruce "Joe" Brackney, age 64

Bruce Lynn "Joe" Brackney, age 64, of Dieterich, Illinois, passed away at 1:33 PM – Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Joe's life will be held at 12:00 PM (Noon) Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Fr. Frank Folino, OFM, officiating.   Burial will be in the St. Aloysius Cemetery in Bishop Creek, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.  In loving memory of Joe, memorials may be made to the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge #664.   The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Bruce Lynn, better known as "Joe" was born March 2, 1957, the son of Melvin and Bonnie (Jones) Brackney.  He married Sandra Niemerg on September 25, 1993, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Bishop Creek, Illinois.

Joe graduated from Dieterich High School in 1975.  He worked for the Village of Dieterich for almost 20 years and for Niemerg Construction for 22 years.

Joe was a member of the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge #664 for 16 years and was a Shriner and member of the Ainad Temple in East St. Louis, Illinois.

Joe could build almost anything, anyone asked him to and he had an attention to detail not many did. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood working and talking politics, he always enjoyed a good debate but always had the last word.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sandy of Dieterich, Illinois

granddaughters Briley and Berkley Bohnhoff of Dieterich, Illinois

Brothers - Bill (Lisa) Brackney of Effingham, Illinois and Doug (Eric) Brackney of Springfield, Illinois

Mother-in-law Verena Niemerg of Dieterich, Illinois

Nieces, great Nieces and Nephews; Sister-n-Law's and Families also survive

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and Father-n-Law Celestine Niemerg.
