Carolyn Jane Hayes, age 74

February 17, 1948 – September 18, 2022

Carolyn Jane Hayes, age 74, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 8:50 AM – Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Carolyn was born on February 17, 1948, the daughter of LaVern and Sadie (Plunkett) Spaggins of Rose Hill, Illinois.  Carolyn married the love of her life, Timothy Hayes on June 9, 1990, and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2021.

Carolyn was a hairdresser at the Hair Gallery, worked at The Villas at Hollybrook, and at the Newton IGA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newton.  She loved art and music. Her great love in life was her family, especially her boys, grand babies, and her beloved puppy Maddie.

Carolyn is survived by sons Todd (Melanie) Miller of Ontario, Canada; and Kevin Miller of Effingham, Illinois. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Macy, Hunter, Gracey, Ripken, Audrey, and

great grandbabies Vada and Genevieve.  She is also survived by sisters Melody Haney of Effingham, Illinois; and Nancy (David) Schuetter of Newton, Illinois.

Carolyn was preceded in death by parents, husband, brother Jack, and sisters Judy, Gloria, and Kathy.
