Carolyn Sue Jenkins, age 74

Carolyn Sue Jenkins, age 74, of Mattoon, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 PM - Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home.

Funeral services celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at 2:00 PM – Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating.  Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery north of Greenup, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.  In loving memory of Carolyn, memorials may be made to the Meyer Funeral Home, 115 East Lincoln Drive Greenup, Illinois 62428.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Carolyn was born on June 1, 1946, in Cumberland County, Illinois, the daughter of Frank Albert and Dortha Fern (Mathney) Strong.

Carolyn worked as a waitress for many years.  She enjoyed playing BINGO, board games and attending family gatherings.

Carolyn is survived by:

Children – Joe Jenkins – Mattoon, Illinois; Michael Jenkins of Dixon, Illinois and Brenda Jenkins of Newton, Illinois

Grandchildren – James Anthony Jenkins, Cami Decker, Michelle Jenkins, Keely King, Callie Wilson and RaeLynn Poltrock

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers Albert Strong and Jimmy Strong.
