Obituary
Cathern J. Lewis, 88, of Greenup, IL passed away at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Cumberland Rehab and Health Care, Greenup, IL.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bishop Funeral Home, Greenup, with Virgil Cisney officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenup Ambulance Service and will be received at the funeral home. Cathern was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Liberty Hill, IL to Norman Francis and Clova Clyo (Eveland) Strader. She was self-employed as a hairdresser for many years. Cathern was a member of Liberty Hill Church, Liberty Hill Women's Club and the VFW Auxiliary in Greenup.
She is survived by her son, G. Steve and wife,Linda K. Carlen of Greenup; grandsons, Garrie Jr. Carlen and wife, Monica, and Michael Carlen and special friend Kyra Totten; great-grandchildren, Kyle Carlen, Kendra Carlen, Emily Carlen, Austin Carlen, Kaylee Carlen, Hunter Light and Kadence Totten; and several nieces and nephews.
Cathern was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Strader; and sisters, Leeta Carlen, Lottie Kibler, Mary Sheridan and Marjorie Titus.
