Cecil Dale "Shorty" Pierson, Sr. age 67

Cecil Dale "Shorty" Pierson, Sr., age 67, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 9:45 AM - Friday, December 15, 2017, at his home.

Private family services will be held.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Cecil was born on January 15, 1950, in Eagleville, Missouri, the son of Melvin and Lorraine (Palmer) Pierson.  He married Patricia Tinker on April 1, 1977, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Cecil had been a roofer, truck driver was the assistant manager at Wal-Mart in Salem, Illinois, for 7 years.

Cecil enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing video games and riding motorcycles.

Wife of 40 years – Pat Pierson of Newton, Illinois

Children – Tina Klitzing of Newton, Illinois and Cecil (Julie) Pierson, Jr. of Newton, Illinois

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents.
