Clara Lucille Jourdan, age 85
Of Newton, IL passed away at 9:20 PM –Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL with Rick Britton officiating. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. In loving memory of Clara, memorials may be made to the Newton VFW.
Clara was born on October 8, 1928 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of John L. and Sylvia (DuFrain) Schackmann. She married John C. "Kelly" Jourdan on March 28, 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2011. Clara worked at E.R. Moore Cap and Gown in Newton for over 28 years. She was a member of the Scott Avenue Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, painting and cooking.
Clara is survived by: 3 Children – Lee Jourdan of Newton, IL Ed (Julie) Jourdan of Martinsville, OH MaDonna (Larry) Sroka of LasVegas, NV 8 Grandchildren 7 Great Grandchildren Clara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Robert Schackmann and a sister Lois McDuffy.
