Mrs. Clara Dhom Wiercioch, age 92
Of Chicago, IL and formerly of Newton, IL passed away at 8:10 AM – Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Resurrection Retirement Community in Chicago, IL.
Mass Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Saturday, February 4, 2012 at St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the mass. The Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. Clara was born on August 23, 1919 in Newton, IL the daughter of Joseph J. and Anna Mary (Hainz) Dhom. She married Eugene P. Wiercioch on May 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1994.
Clara was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chicago. She was also a member of the CCW of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church; Resurrection Hospital Auxiliary; Retirement Club of Resurrection Retirement Community and the Norwood Park Garden Club.
Clara enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
Clara is survived by: 2 Children – Chuck (wife Karen) Wiercioch of Effingham, IL and Bonnie (husband Ken) Heim of Williams Bay, WI
2 Granddaughters – Jennifer and Katie Heim
2 Sisters – Angela Jansen of Island Grove, IL and Emily Price of Long Beach, CA
Clara was preceded in death by parents, husband and two sisters Mary Ciesenski and Agnes Dhom.
