Clarence Eugene "Buck" Lewis, age 90, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 11:28 PM – Friday, December 30, 2022, at Helia Healthcare in Newton, Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois, with Pastor Amy Jeffries officiating.  Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 PM – Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the church and ½ hour before the service.  In loving memory of Buck, memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church.  Arrangements are under the care of Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Clarence, better known as "Buck" was born on December 29, 1932, in Jasper County, Illinois, the son of Carl and Nettie (Jayne) Lewis.  He married Lois Lorraine Prouty, on May 25, 1973, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, Illinois.

Buck was a construction worker and a union laborer.  He worked at the Newton Power Station and Marathon Oil Refinery and retired after many years of service.  He was a faithful member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, where he joined in 1947.  For many years, Buck was at the church daily taking care of whatever needed done.

Buck enjoyed coon hunting, gardening, and spending time friends and family, especially his grandchildren

Children – Heidi (Greg) Dunn and Tom Jung

Grandchildren – Kolby Jackson, Brandi (Ed) Chapman, Brad (Jennifer) Lewis, Lacey Miller, Jaime (Joe) Malenchik, and Kristen (Curtis) Geier

Great Grandchildren – Morgan Miller, Chelsey Weeks, Ashley Reese, Kaleb Jackson, Gracey Lewis, Gary Lewis, Jacob Malenchik, Ella Geier, Ethan King, and Damon King

Buck was preceded in death by his parents; children Gary Lewis and Debbie Guerrettaz; siblings Katie Lewis, Melba Grove, Mildred Morrison, Evelyn Cook, and Leon Stockwell.
