Obituary
of Newton, Illinois passed away at 11:50 AM - Thursday, December 3, 2015 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Central Christian Church 208 South Jackson Street Newton, Illinois with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, Illinois with a luncheon immediately following at the church. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois and 1/2 hour prior to the service at the church. In loving memory of Clarrean memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Clarrean was born September 19, 1926 near Latona, Illinois the daughter of Leland and Amy (Stockwell) Wetherholt. She was one of 8 children and is survived by her brother Allen Dale (Ruth) Wetherholt of Latona, Illinois and Sister Doris (Harold) Chaney of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Sisters Patsy, Madonna and Virginia and brothers Eldon and Med preceded her in death.
She married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Brooks on November 6, 1946. Together they were blessed with three sons; Steve (Valerie) Brooks of Palos Heights Illinois; Stanley (Theresa) Brooks of Effingham, Illinois and Randy (Sandy) Brooks of Newton, Illinois. Son Stanley preceded her in death on June 19, 2015 and her husband Kenny on November 14, 1994. Clarrean is also survived by her 9 grandchildren: Matthew, Joe, Daniel, Laura, Jeni, Amanda, Amy, Evan and Jarrett. She also enjoyed spoiling her 6 great grandchildren: August, Cedar, Paige, Owen, Norah and Ben.
Clarrean loved her family, league bowling, gardening, ginseng and mushroom hunting, traveling with her husband in their camper across the country, cooking the best pies on the planet, and managing the farm operations and financial investments. She had the warmth, wisdom, practicality, and generousness that any son could ever hope to find. She will be so missed.
