Clifford "Buck" Adams, age 97
Of Dieterich, Illinois passed away at 11:28 PM - Friday, October 10, 2014 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois with Pastor Gary Fortkamp officiating. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, Illinois with full military rites by the Dieterich American Legion Post #628. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Monday, October 13, 2014 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Clifford, memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church.

Clifford was born on March 28, 1917 in Elliottstown, Illinois the sixth of seven children, born to Fred and Myrtle Ann (Gross) Adams. He married Gloria Ann Fritscher on December 18, 1952 and she survives.
Clifford served his county as a medic in the United States Army during World War II.
He worked for many years as a carpenter and worked for the Dieterich Unit #30 school district retiring after 35 years of service.
Clifford was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, Illinois, a member of the Effingham VFW, and a 60-year member of the Dieterich American Legion Post #628.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and attending the annual reunions of his 2nd Evac military unit.
Clifford is survived by his wife of 62 years- Gloria Adams of Dieterich, Illinois; daughters Laura (Bill) Glover of Effingham, Illinois and Jan (Jim) Williams of Lake Monticello, Virginia and a sister Eleanor Becker of Flora, Illinois.
He is further survived by 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson of Los Angeles, California; James (Tondra) Nagle of Vincennes, Indiana; Colby Glover of Effingham, Illinois; Tyler (Monica) Williams of Cary, North Carolina; Danielle Adams of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Rueban (Sarah) Risley of Maple, Wisconsin and Melvin (Kallia) Risley of Superior, Wisconsin; and 8 great-grandchildren Theren Nagle of Vincennes, Indiana, Matthew and Jeffrey Donaldson of Vincennes, Indiana; Reanon Adams-Laws of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Karma JoAnn Moulton of Effingham, Illinois; Kloe Risley, Reese Risley and Eli Risley of Maple, Wisconsin; and nieces, nephews and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Brenda Ann Risley, granddaughter Stephanie Donsbach, brothers Bill Adams and Charlie Adams and sisters Hazel Norris, Helen Chronic, and Genevieve Poynter.
