Connie Kaye (Grayling) Meyer, age 71

October 18, 1952 – February 12, 2024

Connie Kaye (Grayling) Meyer, age 71, of Fairmont, Illinois and formerly of Newton, Illinois, gained her angel wings and departed this world to watch over all of us at 1:16 AM – Monday, February 12, 2024, at her home in Fairmont, Illinois.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 PM – Friday, March 1, 2024, at Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service (5:00-6:00 PM) at the funeral home. Connie Kaye was born on October 18, 1952, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese, Illinois the daughter of Oscar and Alice (Deerhake) Grayling.

Connie lived her life to the fullest. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and reading books that would eventually turn into listening to audio books. She never met a stranger-and was the life of the party! For many years, she worked at Quip in Carlyle sewing linens, and B&M sewing boat seats and that is where she utilized her sewing skills to the max. Along with her many talents, her main joys of life were her and Terry Brothers's children-Justin and Bake. She was a wonderful mother with many stories to tell about her children. The real fun began when the grandchildren came along. Katriana Stern born in 1999; Trey Brothers born in 2004 and finally Ayden Brothers born in 2006.

Kat, Trey, Ayden were the twinkle in her eye-she did everything she could for them.

Connie is survived by:

2 Son- Justin Brothers of Fairmount, Illinois, and Bake (Heather Tiley) Brothers of Newton, Illinois

2 sisters- Cindy Utley of Newton, Illinois and Jayne Johnson of Carlyle, Illinois

3 brothers- Roy Grayling of Beckemeyer, Illinois, Sam Grayling of Carlyle, Illinois, and Wayne Grayling of Aurora, Illinois

3 grandchildren- Katriana Stern of Arnold, Missouri, Trey Brothers of Newton, Illinois and Ayden Brothers of Newton, Illinois

21 nieces and nephews, cousins, and so many friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judy Piro, nephew Jesse Grayling, nieces Darla Wintermann and Angie Johnson-Cook.
