Dale L. "Deke" Huddlestun, age 93
Of West Liberty, Illinois passed away at 4:30 PM - Saturday, October 25, 2014 at
Burgin Manor in Olney, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM- Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Dundas Cemetery in Dundas, Illinois with
Fr. Al Kemme officiating.
Military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion.
Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Dale, better known as "Deke", was born on December 13, 1920 in Smallwood Township, Jasper County, Illinois the son of Ona and Tressie (Woods) Huddlestun. He married Norma Jean Westendorf on February 14, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas and she survives.
Deke served his country in the United States Navy during WWII as a pilot.
Deke retired from The People's State Bank in Newton, Illinois after many years of service as the Vice- President. Over the years, Deke was very civic minded and involved in several clubs and organizations. He was a member of the Jasper Post # 20 American Legion and Knights of Columbus #1704.

Loving wife of 69 years – Norma Jean Huddlestun of West Liberty, Illinois
Children – Gregory (Nancy) Huddlestun of Chicago, Illinois
Teresa Schafer of West Liberty, Illinois
Grandchildren – Sarah Huddlestun of Chicago, Illinois
Joseph (Diana) Schafer of Carlisle, Indiana
Maggie Schafer of Tuscon, Arizona
Deke was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Matthew Huddlestun, and a sister Freda Poe.
