Dan Wesley Shamhart, age 60
Of Mason, IL passed away at 12:17 AM – Sunday, March 3, 2013 at St Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Blake-Wright Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL with Jeff Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery near Latona, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM – Friday, March 8, 2013 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Dan, memorials may be made to the family.
Dan was born on January 9, 1953 in Decatur, IL the son of Perry and Gerlene (Lewis) Shamhart. He married Sharon Kay Myers on August 4, 1989.
Dan was a truck driver for Rural King. He was a member of the Harvest Methodist Union Church in Mason. He enjoyed deer hunting, gun shoots and showing his 1938 IH Farmall F-20 at Prairie Days at Bible Grove.

Wife of 23 years – Sharon Shamhart of Mason, IL
3 Children – Danette (Travis) Jewell o Ooltewah, TN
Marine serviceman Kevin Christy stationed in Japan
Jamie Christy of Altamont, IL
8 Grandchildren
2Brothers – Lester (Doloris) Shamhart of Wheeler, IL
Clyde (Evelyn) Shamhart of Beecher City, IL
2 Sisters – Shirley (Ronnie) Allen of Mason, IL
Kathy (Pat) Hahn of Altamont, IL
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Merl and Burl Shamhart and a sister Vickie Shamhart.
