Dana Dawn Ragsdale, age 61

Dana Dawn Ragsdale, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 11:35 PM - Sunday, October 23, 2016, at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Rick Britton officiating.  Burial will be in the Kibler Cemetery near Lis, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at the funeral home.  In loving memory of Dana, memorials may be made to the Fairview Christian Church.

Dana was born on February 22, 1955, in Sims, Illinois, the daughter of Don "Bud" and Norma "Babe" (Thomason) Wells.  She married Douglas E. Ragsdale on September 11, 1998, and he survives.

Dana was a hairdresser for over 35 years and owned operated the Hair Affair in Newton.  She also worked at Quad Graphics in Effingham for 8 years in the finishing department.

Dana was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #497.  She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, cross stitching and quilting.

Husband of 18 years – Doug Ragsdale of Newton, Illinois

Children – Josh (Pat) Wirth of Newton, Illinois, Travis Wirth of Newton, Illinois, Mikka (Daniel) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, Illinois and Ariel (Justin) Gasaway of Newton, Illinois

Brother – Monty Wells of Mt. Vernon, Illinois

Sisters – Angie (Mark) Stedman of Greenville, South Carolina

Sister-in-law – Cindy Wells of Evansville, Indiana

9 Grandchildren

Father-in-law and Mother-in-law – Jack and Mary Ellen Ragsdale of Wheeler, Illinois

Dana was preceded in death by her parents, brother Mark Wells and a granddaughter Stormi Jolliff.
