IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel "Dan" Edward
Eagleson
March 15, 1954 – February 18, 2026
Daniel Edward Eagleson, age 71
March 15, 1954 - February 18, 2026
Daniel Edward Eagleson, known to all of us as Dan, at the age of 71, passed away on February 18, 2025. While we feel the weight of his absence, we find comfort in knowing that Dan has gone home to Jesus to be with those who went before him. He passed just as he lived: surrounded by the warmth and presence of his loved ones.
Visitation for Dan will be on Saturday February 21, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois, with the funeral service at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rebecca Eagleson to help with expenses. The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Dan was the son of Earl Eagleson and Patricia Stahlman.
On December 19th, 1989, Dan married the love of his life, Becky. From that day forward, if you saw one, the other was sure to be right there. Friends used to tease them, saying that if those two ever got a divorce, the world was coming to an end. Dan and Becky shared a glorious 37 years of marriage; and while they hoped for many more, they cherished every moment they had. Together, they raised five children: Jamie Coleman and his wife Kathy of Olney, Illinois; Dan Eagleson of Robinson; Lori Brown of Wright City, Missouri; Brianna Trowbridge and her husband Nathaniel of Albion; and Matthew Eagleson of Olney.
Dan was also a proud Papaw to 11 glorious grandchildren: Keregan Cole and her husband Ethan, Bryce Coleman, Kayla Brown, Makenna Brown, Lillian Brown, Kamryn Trowbridge, Connor Trowbridge, Cash Trowbridge, Xandar Trowbridge, Braytan Trowbridge, and Kie Trowbridge. He also leaves behind one great-grandson, Bodee Cole, whose visits always made Dan’s eyes twinkle.
Dan is survived by his only living sister, Sandy Deain, of Olney. Dan was preceded in death by his parents and his little brother, Philip Wesley
It was from his father that Dan likely inherited his love for mechanics. By the time he was only 12 or 13 years old, he was already working on cars. Some of his most defining early memories were spent in the garage with his dad, diving into engines the moment he got home from school.
Dan leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family loyalty, and a kindness that never left anyone behind. We hold tight to the memory of a man who loved his family fiercely and always made room for us in his life.
