Mr. Darrel L. Owen, age 86
Of Greenup, IL passed away at 5:35 AM – Friday, October 21, 2011 at Cumberland Rehab & Health Care.
Graveside services with full military rites will be held at 1:00 PM – Sunday, October 23, 2011 at the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, IL. Arrangements are under the care of the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL. In loving memory of Darrel, memorials may be made to the Lincolnland Hospice or to Cumberland Rehab and Heath Care
Darrel was born on January 25, 1925 in St. Elmo, IL the son of Palmer and Grace (Cook) Owen.Darrel served his country during WW II in the United States Navy in operating engineers.Darrel retired from the Gravel pit north of Greenup after many years of service.Darrel is survived by:
2 Brothers – Nilan "Tuffy" Owen of St. Joseph, IL
David Owen of Greenup, IL
2 Sisters – Ethel Carr of Greenup, IL
Alice Dloniak of Greenup, IL
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marlon "Hop", F. Wayne and Dale Owen.
