Obituary
Darrell Dean McCoy age 71
of Matteson, Illinois and formerly of Wheeler, Illinois passed at away September 11, 2014 at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois.
Visitation will be held 10:00-12:00 on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL with graveside services to follow in the Trexler Cemetery in rural Newton, IL with Pastor Stephen Gillet officiating. In loving memory of Darrel memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, Matteson, IL. The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.
Darrell was born on August 23, 1943 the son of William "Sonny" and Violet (Niendick) McCoy. He married Sharon Beasley on August 16, 1980 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansing, Illinois and she survives.
Darrell worked at Tri-state cut stone company in Frankfort, Illinois for 23 years.
Darrell was an avid fisherman & hunter. He enjoyed shooting pool and playing miniature golf. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Matteson, Illinois.

Son - D. Charlie McCoy of Matteson, Illinois
Sisters - Donna (Richard) Feldhake of Effingham, Illinois
Sharon Kay Winterrowd of Bourbonnais, Illinois
Wanda (LeRoy) Haarman of Effingham, Illinois
Diana Holt of Vienna, Illinois
Brother - Floyd (Linda) McCoy of Newton, Illinois
Sister-in-laws - Joan McCoy of Effingham, Illinois and Carol McCoy of Burnsville, Minnesota
Brother-in-law – David Watkins of Webb City, Missouri
Aunts - Mary Lou Ebbesen of Dekalb, Illinois and Joan Traub of Dieterich, Illinois
Several nieces & nephews also survive.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Medford and Jerry McCoy and
his sisters Catherine McCoy & Phyllis Watkins.
