Delbert Ray Strader, age 67

Delbert Ray Strader, age 67, of Olney, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 PM – Saturday, December 30, 2023.

A visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 Noon till 1:00 PM – Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  A graveside service will follow in the Hays Cemetery, west of Hidalgo, Illinois.  In loving memory of Delbert, memorials may be made to the family.  The obituary can be viewed, and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com.

Delbert was born on January 30, 1956, in Mattoon, Illinois the son of Lowell and Lois (Sowers) Strader.  He graduated with the Class of 1974 from Newton Community High School.  He married his wife Roberta, and she preceded him in death.

Delbert worked in a carpet factory in Georgia for many years.  He was an avid fisherman and attended Plainfield Church.

Delbert is survived by:

Siblings – Nancy Barr of Newton, Illinois; Mary Strader of Newton, Illinois; Doris Strader of Newton, Illinois; Susan (Bobby) Reynolds of Yale, Illinois; and George Strader of Newton, Illinois.

Delbert was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
