Delores Rogene Walden, age 92

June 20, 1926 – May 23, 2019

Delores Rogene Walden, age 92, of Greenup, Illinois, passed away at 2:12 PM – Thursday, May 23, 2019, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Delores, will be held at 3:00 PM – Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Meyer Funeral Home – Bishop Chapel in Greenup, Illinois, with Pastor Roger James officiating.  Burial will be in the Block Cemetery south east of Greenup, Illinois.  Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.

Delores was born on June 20, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Webb) Weemer.  She married Wallace W. Walden on June 21, 1941, and he survives.

Delores retied from Ettelbrick Shoe Factory in Greenup, Illinois, after many years of service.  She was a member of the Mt. Zion (Block) Church.

Delores enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard and visiting with family and friends.

Delores is survived by her husband of 77 years – Wallace Walden of Greenup, Illinois and a sister Jessie Weemer of Springfield, Illinois.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and caregivers.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Linda Kay (Don) Harris, brother Donald Weemer and a sister Lois Shepherd.
