Dennis James Miller, age 56

Dennis James Miller, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 PM - Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kylie and Karlie Miller education fund.

Dennis was born on January 25, 1960, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Ralph F. and Rosalie (Marshall) Miller.  He married Jodi Finn on May 27, 1993, in Newton, Illinois.

Dennis graduated from Newton Community High School in 1978.  He was a mechanic and after graduation he went to work with his father at Miller's Texico in Newton for many years.  He then worked at Birch Auto in Newton for 15 years and later at Webster Ford.

Dennis is a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois and the Knights of Columbus.  He was an avid fan of NASCAR, Chicago Cubs and Bears.  He also enjoyed building demo cars and participating in demo derbies.

Father – Ralph Miller of Newton, Illinois
Wife – Jodi Miller of Newton, Illinois
Brothers – David (Sharon) Miller of Effingham, Illinois and Danny (Laura) Miller of Newton, Illinois
Sister – Patty (Marc) Leist of Calhoun, Illinois
Beloved Pets – Dean, Patrick and Tonks

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother Rosalie Miller.
