Dennis Charles Morgan, age 64 Of Newton, IL passed away at 6:30 PM – Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM – Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Central Christian Church in Newton, IL with Mike Knepper officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Friday, August 9, 2013 at the church. In loving memory of Dennis, memorials may be made to the NAMI or Central Christian Church. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL.

Dennis was born on July 19, 1949 in Springfield, IL the son of Charles and Genevieve (Murphy) Morgan. He married Carla Lynn Newland on March 21, 1970 in Springfield, IL. Dennis served his country for 10 years in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Dennis retired from Ameren CIPS Newton Power Station after 33 years of service. Dennis was a member of the Central Christian Church and enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching movies and listening to music.

Mother – Genevieve Morgan of Effingham, IL
Sons – James (Sarah) Morgan of Morton, IL Russ (Jenny) Morgan of Loves Park, IL Granddaughters – Hope, Chelsea, Bethany and Lillian Morgan
Sister – Marilyn (Pete) Brager of Effingham, IL.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father and a sister Joyce Ryan.
