Mr. Dewey Ross Connor, Jr. age 89
Of Newton, IL passed away at 12:04 PM - Friday, September 2, 2011 at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM – Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL with Rick Britton officiating. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton, IL with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM – Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the funeral home. In loving memory of Dewey, memorials may be made to the
Jasper County Senior Citizens Center.
Dewey was born on September 12, 1921 in Vincennes, IN the son of Dewey Ross Connor, Sr and Mary Elizabeth (Weber) Connor. He married Kathryn Kinsel on April 10, 1942 in Newton, IL and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1997.
Dewey was a graduate of Newton Community High School. After graduation he volunteered for services in the United States Navy and served his country during WWII. Upon returning home from the service, Dewey attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a
Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
Dewey was the co-owner of Connor and Connor. He enjoyed spending his time with his family.

Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Virginia Kasserman.
