Doiletta Ann "Dot" Collins, age 66

July 16, 1953 – February 12, 2020

Doiletta Ann "Dot" Collins, age 66, of Noble, Illinois, passed away at 2:41 PM – Wednesday, February 12, 2020, in Olney, Illinois.

Funeral services celebrating Dot's life will be held at 1:00 PM – Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois, with Doyle Williams officiating.  Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday, February 14, 2020, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.   In loving memory of Dot, memorials may be made to the Jasper County Cancer Fund, PO Box 333, Newton, Illinois 62448.  The obituary can be viewed and condolences left at www.meyerfh.com .

Doiletta fondly known as "Dot" was born on July 16, 1953, in Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Doyal and Rheta (Hamilton) Tarr.  She married Ronald James "Slim" Collins on April 16, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2012.

Dot enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, working crossword puzzles and listening to bluegrass music.

Dot loved caring for people; she was a caregiver for many years with Community Care Systems and opened her home to many foster children.

She loved her family especially her grandchildren.

Dot is survived by-

Children - Ronald (Champ) Collins and wife Saundra of Olney, Illinois; Rheta Collins (Marty Miller) of Noble, Illinois; and Rachel Cook and husband Nathan of Effingham, Illinois

Siblings - Pamela Adams of Dieterich, Illinois; Elsie (Roger) Cooley of Charleston, Illinois;

Robin (Philip) Kimpling of Olney, Illinois; and Rodney (Belinda) Tarr of Sumner, Illinois

Grandchildren - Coty Collins, James Bailey (Shyanne Gilbert), Ronald Collins II, Rodney Collins, and KarLee Schnell

Great Granddaughter - Judith Bailey

Several step grandchildren, foster grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Uncles - George (Fern) Hamilton of Englewood, Colorado and John Richard Hamilton of Olney, Illinois

Lifelong friend – John Rife of Newton, Illinois

Dot was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
