Dolors Elizabeth (Copper) Brockett, age 93
Of Newton, Illinois passed away at 11:05 AM - Saturday, August 23, 2014
at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM – Friday, August 29, 2014 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, Illinois. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the mass in the church. In loving memory of Dolors memorials may be made to St. Thomas or St. Mary's Church.
Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois.

Dolors was born on January 22, 1921 in Osage, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Emma (Fehrenbacher) Copper. She married Gean Brockett on December 1, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1976. A son Gene Michael Brockett was born to this union on November 11, 1946 and he passed away in October 1982.
Dolors worked in a defense plant in Detroit, Michigan during World War II and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. She enjoyed cooking and loved her cats.
Dolors is survived by:
Granddaughter – Laura (Jason) Janikowski of San Tan Valley, Arizona
Great Grandson – Gene Janikowski of San Tan Valley, Arizona
Sister – Romonna (Johnny) Ochs of Ste. Marie, Illinois
Brother – Norman (Emma Gene) Copper of Newton, Illinois
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Dolors was preceded in death by parents, husband Gean Brockett and her son Gene Michael Brockett.
