Obituary

Don Line, age 79 Of Ingraham, IL passed away at 6:50 PM - Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM – Monday, August 1, 2011 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin, IL. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00–7:00 PM on Sunday, July 31 at the church and ½ hour prior to the mass at the church. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church. Don was born on September 28, 1931 in Evanston, Illinois the son of Lowell and Matilda (Deimel) Line. Don graduated from Peoria Central High Scholl in 1949 after high school he served his country in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean Conflict. Don married Alice Seckinger on November 25, 1954 and she survives. Donald was a lifelong farmer and worked at World Color Press for 11 years. Don was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wendelin. He was a past board member and President of the Jasper County Community Unit #1 School Board. He was also a proud member of the Jasper County Pork Producers, Olney American Legion, Knights of Columbus #1704 and had served as a leader in the Jasper County 4-H Association. Donald is survived by- Wife- Alice Line of Ingraham, IL Children– Terry (husband Lee) Webb of Newton, IL Cathy (husband Dan) Esker of Teutopolis, IL Kelly (wife Tammie) Line of Effingham, IL Grandchildren- Amy (husband Jeremy) Strayer of LaGrange, IL; Seth (wife Ruth) Webb of Champaign, IL; Dakota Esker of Teutopolis, IL; Jessica Wolfert of Effingham, IL; Derrek Line of Effiingham, IL; Devin Wolfert of Effinhgam, IL; Kody Line of Effingham, IL and Kage Line of Effingham, IL. Great Grandchildren- Nicholas Strayer; Alyssa Strayer; Audra Strayer and Kamryn Wolfert. Brother – Bill Line of Ingraham, IL Donald was preceded in death by his parents
