Dorothy Irene (Davidson) Hayes, age 83, of Olney, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 1-2 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date. Reverend Erik Hopkins will be officiating.

Dorothy was born on July 17, 1932 in Olney the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Duda) Davidson. She later married Robert E. Hayes on September 3, 1949 in Olney. He preceded her in death.

She worked in retail at Sherman's Department Store and Tresslars and also at Big John's in the bakery. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed playing cards with the ladies every week and getting her hair done. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and making noodles with them every year. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by 2 sons, Monty Hayes, and wife Nancy of Olney and Brad Hayes, and wife Cherri of Calhoun; 2 daughters, Tammy Steckler of Olney and Cheryl Holley, and husband Joe of Olney; sister Emily Lefever of Olney; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer, Alleigh, Sydney, Amber, Lisa, Teresa, Stan and Amiee and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Hayes, parents Raymond and Mary Davidson, twin brother Richard Davidson, son Greg Hayes and son-in-law Joe Steckler.

Memorials can be sent to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association in Memory of Dorothy Irene Hayes.
