Dorothy D. Marrs, age 86

Of rural Gila, IL (rural Montrose, IL) passed away at 12:20 PM – Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Blake-Wright Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL with Nate Hagen officiating. Burial will be in the Trexler Cemetery in rural Newton, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM – Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Dorothy was born on June 25, 1926 in Jasper County, IL the daughter of St.Claire and Mildred (Clagg) Davis. She married Harold E. Marrs on June 2, 1944 in Latona, IL and he preceded her in death on January 11, 1999.
Dorthy was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband on the family farm in Gila. She and her husband owned and operated a general merchandise store in Gila and later she became a real estate broker.
Dorothy was a lifelong member of the Latona Church of Christ.
