Edith V. (Hawes) Bright, age 87
Of Effingham and formerly of Greenup and Mattoon, IL passed away at 3:15 PM –
Sunday, June 10, 2012
at home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup, IL. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service. In loving memory of Edith, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

Edith was born on October 5, 1924 in Greenup, IL the daughter of Alvin and Myrtle (Ghast) Hawes. She married James William "Bill" Bright on December 3, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 12, 1989.
Edith was a homemaker and loving mother. She attended the Willow Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing word find books and traveling. She was an avid Illini Basketball fan.
Edith is survived by:
5 Children – Dan (Karen) Bright of Warsaw, KY
Bev (Ray) Conrad of Casey, IL
Steve (Shirley) Bright of Scales Mound, IL
Kathy (Gary) Lawhead of Effingham, IL
Kevin Bright of Effingham, IL
2 Sisters – Elsie Short of Greenup, IL
Norma Kendall of Walnut Prairie, IL
5 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren
Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Pam Bright, 5 brothers and
3 sisters.
