Edith Mildred Printz, age 96
a resident at Wyndmoor Retirement Community, Terre Haute, IN passed away at 10:10 p.m. EST – Saturday, January 12, 2013 at
Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
Visitation will be at Bishop Funeral Home, Greenup, IL on Wednesday, January 16th from 9-11 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. CST. Burial will be at Montrose Cemetery, where Edith will be buried next to Merl, her husband of 67 years. Merl and Edith were married February 19, 1937 in Effingham, Illinois and settled on a farm near New Castle, IN. After retiring, they returned to Illinois, briefly living in Olney before moving to Effingham.
Edith was born December 26, 1916, at Woodbury, Illinois to Henry W. and Esther (Brewer) Kingery. Two years after Merl's death in 2004, Edith moved to Mattoon and then to The Wyndmoor, in Terre Haute.
She is survived by her son Gene and his wife Sharon (Link) Printz, Terre Haute; two grandchildren, David Printz of Michigan, and Diana Waldman and Nick of Ohio; five great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Ollie Nichols of Mattoon; sister-in-law, Wilma Kingery of Neoga; and many nieces and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her three brothers: Hope, James (Jude), and Richard Kingery; and two sisters Alice Warner and Delores McDowell.
