Edward Groth, Age 85

Of Wheeler, IL passed away at 10:25 PM – Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, IL with Pastor Gary Fortkamp officiating. Burial will be in the Dieterich Village Cemetery in Dieterich, IL. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Blake-Wright Funeral Home in Dieterich, IL. There will also be visitation 1 hour before the service in the church. Memorials may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Edward was born on August 12, 1927 in Springfield, IL the son of Frank and Augusta (Goebel) Groth, Sr. He married Ruth Mellendorf on December 19, 1968.
Edward was a lifelong farmer, carpenter and plumber. He helped with laying the waterlines for EJ Water. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Dieterich, IL and enjoyed bowling.
