Edward E. Hahn, age 103
Of Newton and formerly of Ste. Marie, IL passed away at 11:20 PM – Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Newton Rest Haven in Newton, IL.
Memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM – Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, IL with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. In loving memory of Ed, memorials may be made to the St. Thomas building fund. Arrangements are under the care of the Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Ed was born on November 30, 1908 in Jasper County, IL the son of Samuel and Katherine (Schmidt) Hahn. He married Angela Spitzer on October 26, 1938 in Ste. Marie, IL and she survives.
Ed was a farmer until his retirement in 1971. He was a 4 Th degree lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #1704 of Newton, IL and past member of the Moose Lodge of Olney.
Ed was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton and he loved to garden until he was in his 90's.
Ed is survived by his wife of 73 years – Angela Hahn of Newton, IL
Daughters – Madonna (Gene) Schackmann of Newton, IL
Mary Lou (Jim) Kessler of Mesquite, NV

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters Bernadette Reis, Evelyn Barthelme and Marjorie Fehrenbacher-Spitz.
