IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Eleanor (Berlin)
Lobacz
February 5, 1927 – May 2, 2019
Eleanor "Ellie" Lobacz, age 92, passed away on May 2, 2019, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.
Eleanor was born on February 5, 1927, the eldest child of three, to William and Florence Berlin of Berryville IL. Her brother, Francis (Don) Berlin, preceded her in death. Her sister, Betty Jennings, survives and lives in Olney.
At 19 years of age Eleanor met her husband, Ed Lobacz, in Chicago and raised five children. The family moved to Parkersburg in 1967, and later relocated to Olney.
Christian faith was important to Eleanor as she was a member at First United Methodist Church in Olney. Her parents taught her the stories of Jesus from an early age and she encouraged family members and
friends to live by the challenge: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Her favorite hymn in worship was "How Great Thou Art."
"Miss Ellie" was a ward clerk at Richland Memorial Hospital for 20+ years before she retired. She volunteered with hospice patients and loved to bake pies and desserts for her family, church and community events.
Cremated ashes will be interred at Crest Haven Cemetery, next to her husband of 65 years, Edward, who died in 2011.
Eleanor is survived by five children: son, Thomas (Yolanda) Lobacz, of Galena, IL.; son, Steve Lobacz of Chicago, IL.; son, Dave (Vicki) Lobacz of Olney, IL.; daughter, Judy McLear (Michael ,deceased) of Evansville, IN. and son, Jeff Lobacz of Torrance, CA. Five grandchildren: Andrew Lobacz, Brigette Lobacz-Smith, Kenneth Lobacz, Chelsea and Sarah McLear. Great Grandchildren include Khloe and Xander Lobacz, and Rowan Smith. She has been graced by many nieces and nephews. Special friends include Greta and Warren Anderson of Kenosha, WI., their children and grandchildren.
