Of Newton, IL passed away at 11:05 PM – Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Newton Rest Haven in Newton, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM – Friday, May 17, 2013 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, IL. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery in Greenup, IL. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM – Thursday, May 16, 2013 and ½ hour before the services at the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton, IL. In loving memory of Evelyn, memorials may be made to the Eagle's Landing Teen Center. Arrangements are under the care of Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL. Evelyn was born on September 16, 1921 in Hazel Dell, IL the daughter of Mahlon H. and Hazel M. (Harrison) Welker. She married Ralph Quentin Holsapple on November 23, 1939 in Henderson, KY and he preceded her in death on May 6, 2013 after 73 years of marriage. Evelyn worked at Ettlebrick Shoe Factory in Greenup and Newton for many years and at People's State Bank. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Newton; Newton Women's Club; Vanderhoof Community Club and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #497 of Newton where she served as Worthy Matron. Evelyn is survived by: 4 Children –Gwendolyn K. (David) Eadie of Mt. Vernon, IL Susan L. (Robert) Simmons of Newton, IL Janet E. (Dennis) Hattermann of Valdosta, GA George Charles "Chuck" (Shirley) Holsapple of Newton, IL 1 Son-in-Law – Clayton Brunner of Marion, IL Grandchildren – Lynette (Greg) Denzer of Collierville, TN; Sarah (Josh) Rhea of Jacksonville, IL; Kindra (Matt) Eagin of Round Rock, TX; Emily (Mike) Lindgren of Bourbonnais, IL; Kelly (Caleb) Baker of Newton, IL; Devin (Amanda) Holsapple of Newton, IL; Brandon (Megan) Hattermann of Valdosta, GA; Kari Beth Holsapple of Newton, IL and Elizabeth Hattermann of Valdosta, GA 12 Great Grandchildren – Kaleb Rhea, Ben Rhea, Alex Denzer, Becca Denzer, Robbie Denzer, Sean Eagin, Patrick Eagin, Wesley Lindgren, Elise Lindgren, Rylie Baker, Dakota Baker, Chloe Holsapple Sister – Elizabeth L. Shull of Glendale, AZ Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Patricia Ann Brunner; brother Robert R. Timmons and 2 sisters Margaret Barnett and Virginia Fogleman.
