Ferdinand "Fred" De Alexandro, age 88

May 28, 1930 – November 30, 2018

Ferdinand "Fred" De Alexandro, age 88, of Dieterich, Illinois, formerly of Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, passed away at 11:18 AM - Friday, November 30, 2018, at his home.

Private family services will be held.  Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Dieterich, Illinois.

Ferdinand better known as "Fred" was born on May 28, 1930, in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, the son of Nicola and Adolina (Naviganti) De Alexandro.  He married Janice Morrison on May 9, 1981, and she survives.

Fred served his country from 1947 to 1952, in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Fred was a brick layer for many years.  He was a member of the brick layers union, Knights of Columbus and the Sons of Italy.

Fred is survived by:

Wife of 37 years – Janice De Alexandro of Dieterich, Illinois

Sons – David Steck of Perryopolis, Pennsylvania and Robert Steck of Bayfield, Colorado

Sisters – Judy (George) Usher and Delores Meade both of Perryopolis, Pennsylvania

Mother-in-law – Vera Wiley of Dieterich, Illinois

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Philip and Patrick De Alexandro.
