Wayne served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and then enlisted in the United States Army from which he retired.
Wayne loved to serve his country. He was able to travel all over the world with his family.

Wayne was a very loving husband, father, and friend. He would do anything for anyone. He had a huge heart and welcomed everyone into the family. Most knew him as "Papa" even if you were not blood, and he treated you as his own. He loved to watch sports (Indianapolis Colts he never missed) unless he was watching his grandchildren play. He was known as being the #1 fan, as he cheered on all of the children. He also loved his western shows (Gunsmoke and Bonanza), and his favorite movie star was John Wayne. His favorite music of all time was the 60's. He loved to sing, even though he couldn't hold a note. One of his favorite times was fishing and having fish frys! "The more the merrier" he always said!!! He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Olney and loved his Lord very much. He was also a lifetime member of the VFW.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 53 years, Faye Harrison of Wildwood, Florida;
son, Brian (April) Harrison of Pawnee, Illinois; and
daughter, Brandi (Dave) Foster of Olney, Illinois.

and many more that he loved as his own.
