Francis Aloysius "Frank" Geltz, age 90
Of rural Willow Hill, Illinois passed away at 11:17 AM - Friday, December 26, 2014 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM – Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois with Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, Illinois with full military rites by the Ste. Marie Post #932 American Legion. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 PM – Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois with a rosary at 4:30 PM. There will also be visitation 1 hour before the mass in church. In loving memory of Frank, memorials may be made to the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932 handicap lift fund.
Francis Aloysius Geltz was born on December 4, 1924 in rural West Liberty , Illinois, the third of nine children born to Albert and Elizabeth "Bess" (Litzelman) Geltz. Francis, better known as Frank, served in the United States Navy from 1943-1946 on the USS Pickens. On September 3, 1955 he married Mary Elizabeth Blank and she preceded him in death on February 23, 1996. To this union was born two daughters and two sons, Connie; Patsy; Jerry and Don. Frank enjoyed nature, especially mushroom hunting, deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed wine making and playing cards. Frank's greatest joy was his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, Illinois and a life member of the Ste. Marie American Legion Post #932 and a life member of the Newton VFW.

2 Great Grandchildren- Benjamin Jozefiak and Aliya Carter

3 Sisters- Mary Kathryn Berry of Clay City, Illinois

Evelyn Kocher of Willow Hill, Illinois

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Elizabeth, sister Melba Clayton, 3 brothers James, Norbert, Harold "Hezzie" Geltz, 6 brother-in-laws William Clayton, Lyman Berry, George Knell, Maynard Kocher, Ralph Blank and Paul Blank, 2 sister-in-laws Gertrude Geltz and Maxine Geltz.
