Freida C. (Brassie) Aldridge, 92 of Olney, passed away at 7:14 PM on Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney.

Private family funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, October 15, 2021 in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olney. Pastor Steve Greiner will be officiating.

Freida was born on December 10, 1928 in Jasper County, the daughter of Leo Ambrose and Stella May (Spangler) Brassie. She married Russell Dean Foster on July 19, 1946 in White Plains, MO. He preceded her in death. She later married Frank Aldridge on September 7, 1984. He also preceded her in death.

She worked at various jobs in the Olney and Richland County area. She was a member of the Christian Church of Olney. She was a great cook. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards, and her biggest passion in life was attending different sales or yard sales and buying and selling furniture and different Knick-Knacks.

Freida is survived by her son Rodney Foster (Lisa) of Olney; 2 daughters Connie Shafer of Olney and Debra Kay Carson of Olney; sister Juanita Brassie of Rantoul; 2 daughters-in-law Sharon Foster and Clara Foster; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both husbands Dean Foster and Frank Aldridge, her parents Leo and Stella Brassie, 2 sons Gary Dean and Ray Eugene Foster, 6 sisters, 4 brothers, son-in-law Billy Shafer, and great-great granddaughter Nova Lee Vaughn.

Memorials can be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Freida C. (Brassie) Aldridge.
