Gail Joy Rusk, age 85, of Olney, passed away at 5:40 PM on Friday, April 21, 2017 at her residence in Olney.

Celebration of Life service will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Noble Prairie Cemetery. Cremation rites were accorded. Pastor Gary Wachtel will be officiating. Burial will be at Noble Prairie Cemetery in Noble.

Gail was born on December 22, 1931, in Albion, the daughter of Wallace and Louella (Walker) Colyer. She later married Don D. Rusk in Mississippi. He preceded her in death.

She worked as a Floor Lady at the Shoe Factory in Olney and at AMF. She also worked in the shoe department at Wal-Mart in Olney. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening and planting flowers. She was a people person. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Gail is survived by her brother Dale Colyer and wife Norma of St. Louis; sister Lois Skelton of Olney and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Don D. Rusk, parents Wallace and Louella Colyer, 3 brothers, Henry, Wallace Jr. and Donald Colyer, 3 sisters, Mary Shaw, Eva Lambert, Helen Duke-Rinehart and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials can be sent to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois in memory of Gail Joy Rusk.
